Job Summary The Passport Specialist provides individualized 1:1 and small-group support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD/DD) across Beacons' Passport Division programs. This role integrates the services of Voyager, Tailored Day Services (TDS), and Coordinated Career Pathways (CCP), ensuring participants receive person-centered support in the areas of: Community engagement & independent living Postsecondary education exploration Employment readiness, job coaching & workplace skill development Career pathway planning & navigation Self-advocacy and Person-Centered Planning The ideal candidate is adaptable, creative, collaborative, and committed to empowering individuals to build meaningful, self-directed lives. Key Responsibilities Assess each participant's skills and needs to create personalized support strategies Help participants develop and practice skills for work, social interactions, and independent living Plan and implement engaging, hands-on activities that align with individual goals Adapt to unexpected challenges by using creative problem-solving and active listening Utilize assistive technology and instructional tools to support learning and communication Maintain weekly progress tracking and update service plans regularly Work closely with SDRC coordinators to ensure client service plans are current Participate in ongoing staff training and professional development Required Skills & Qualifications 2-3 years of experience working directly with adults or teens with IDD/DD or a strong personal connection to the community. Experience in job coaching or employment support (preferred but not required). Strong communication skills (oral and written), positive interpersonal style, and a collaborative mindset. Ability to think creatively, adapt plans quickly, and provide individualized instruction. Strong organizational, time-management, and documentation abilities. Proficient with Google Workspace; comfortable using mobile devices and digital tools. Must pass a background check and Live Scan. Reliable transportation to transport participants in your personal, insured vehicle; valid California driver's license and clean driving record required. Professional demeanor, confidentiality, and adherence to safety regulations. Completion of Person-Centered Planning and ACRE training (provided by Beacons if not already completed).
