Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior and home health care, with experience supporting individuals with diverse needs including developmental disabilities, dementia, and neurodevelopmental disorders. This role involves delivering personalized care that promotes safety, comfort, and well-being in clients' homes or community settings. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation. Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to safety protocols including first aid procedures. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and sanitation of living spaces. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment that respects their dignity and independence. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans for residents with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder, or intellectual disabilities. Skills Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in condition or behavior promptly. Knowledge of dementia care, memory care strategies, hospice care principles, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Ability to perform patient monitoring including vital signs and medication administration accurately. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings. Competence in assisting with ADLs through manual handling techniques and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities is highly desirable. Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining a compassionate approach to caregiving.
