 Full Time (30 hours per week) Position Summary The Program Instructor provides direct care, supervision, training, and support services to individuals with developmental disabilities in accordance with Individual Program Plans (IPPs), Individual Service Plans (ISPs), applicable regulations, and Company policies. The Program Instructor promotes client independence, health, safety, dignity, and community integration while ensuring compliance with Title 17, Title 22, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct care, supervision, training, and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in accordance with Individual Program Plans (IPPs), Individual Service Plans (ISPs), behavior support plans, and Company policies. Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, bathing, toileting, eating, mobility, and other personal care needs. Support clients in achieving personal goals and developing skills that promote independence, self-sufficiency, and community integration. Observe, monitor, and document client behaviors, progress, health status, incidents, and significant events accurately and timely. Maintain accurate client records, daily notes, medication records, and other required documentation. Monitor client health and safety and promptly report injuries, illnesses, incidents, suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other unusual occurrences in accordance with Company policies and mandated reporting requirements. Implement behavior support plans, training programs, and individualized services as directed. Assist clients with recreational, vocational, educational, and community-based activities. Safely transport clients to appointments, activities, and community outings when assigned. Assist clients with entering, exiting, and riding safely in vehicles. Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and organized environment for clients. Assist with meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and other household responsibilities as assigned. Follow all applicable federal, state, local, licensing, and Company regulations, policies, and procedures. Protect client rights, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times. Attend and successfully complete required meetings, certifications, and training programs. Respond appropriately to emergencies, behavioral incidents, and crisis situations. Work collaboratively with coworkers, supervisors, family members, service coordinators, healthcare providers, and other members of the client's support team. Perform other duties as assigned to support client care, program operations, and regulatory compliance. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, seniors, or other vulnerable populations is preferred but not required. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions, policies, procedures, and client care plans. Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation and records. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain professionalism, and work independently as well as collaboratively with others. Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect client rights at all times. Ability to successfully complete and maintain all required training, certifications, and clearances. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain and maintain certification within required timeframes. Successful completion of all pre-employment screening requirements, including DOJ/FBI background clearance, health screening, TB clearance, and any other requirements mandated by federal, state, local, licensing, or funding agencies. Valid California Driver License, reliable transportation, acceptable driving record, and proof of automobile insurance if driving is required as part of the position. Ability to safely transport clients when assigned. Ability to meet all requirements established by Title 17, Title 22, Community Care Licensing, Regional Centers, and other applicable regulatory agencies. Basic computer skills and the ability to utilize electronic documentation, communication, scheduling, and training systems. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Operate a motor vehicle safely when transporting clients or performing job-related duties. Work in residential homes, community settings, offices, vehicles, and outdoor environments. May be exposed to varying weather conditions while supporting clients in community-based activities. May have occasional exposure to cleaning products, bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and other environmental conditions common to direct care settings. Work closely with individuals who have diverse support needs, communication styles, and behavioral challenges, requiring patience, professionalism, flexibility, and the consistent use of approved support techniques. Respond appropriately to emergencies, client health concerns, behavioral situations, and other unexpected events. Maintain regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work assigned schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, or overtime when needed.
