Job Description

Caregiver (DSP) is responsible for meeting the needs of the residents by providing direct care and supervision, positive behavioral support, and daily living routine. Direct Care Staff is responsible for the safety of the residents, and maintaining a living environment that is clean and home-like. Caregiving experience preferred, but willing to train individuals with no experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent GED At least 1 year of caregiving or direct patient care experience, preferably with development disabilities First aid and CPR certification, obtained within 6 months of hire Criminal fingerprint cleared by
FBI/DOJ TB
clearance and current health screening Good communication skills Good physical health and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks Knowledge of housekeeping and sanitation principles Knowledge of good nutrition, food preparation, storage, and menu planning Knowledge of recognizing signs of illnesses and the need for medical intervention i.e. calling 911 Knowledge of community resources Valid Driver's license Duty Statement Assist residents with activities of daily living Observe residents and report any medical or behavioral changes to administrator Knowledge of each resident's medications, dosage, purpose, and side effects Assist residents in administering medications Record resident's medications log Implement social and physical activities Supervise resident's activities Assist in preparation of three meals a day and snacks as indicated on the weekly menu plan Assist residents with housekeeping/laundry Assist residents with changing linens, towels, cleaning rooms Maintain inventory of supplies Familiarity with community services and resources that the residents may request or need

$21.00 per hour
