Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Therapeutic Support Aide to provide individualized support to an 19 year old traumatic brain injury survivor. In this role, you will assist with daily routines, therapy carryover, and community engagement while promoting independence and personal growth. Your supportive and structured approach will help create a safe, encouraging environment where the individual can build cognitive, social, and life skills. You will collaborate closely with family members, educators, and therapy providers to ensure consistent and effective support across settings. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact while gaining experience in rehabilitation, neurodivergence support, and life skills coaching. Responsibilities Assist with cognitive and life skills development, including memory strategies, organization, and task sequencing Support community mobility, including safe navigation at school, appointments, and social outings Encourage social engagement, mentorship, and participation in meaningful conversations and activities Provide support with assistive technology tools and organizational applications Carry over home program therapy goals from physical therapy, occupational therapy , and speech therapy into daily routines Assist with activities of daily living and promote increasing independence Monitor progress and provide feedback to the care team regarding performance and engagement Foster a structured, supportive environment that promotes confidence, independence, and skill development Skills Ability to work effectively with individuals with traumatic brain injury or cognitive challenges Knowledge of cognitive rehabilitation strategies and executive functioning support Strong communication and collaboration skills with teams Patience, adaptability, and problem solving skills in dynamic environments Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive strategies Experience or interest in rehabilitation, psychology, or related fields Ability to support behavior management and encourage positive engagement
