DSP (Direct Support Professional)

In this role, you will implement instructional and environmental modifications to improve behaviors while supporting individuals with diverse needs, including those requiring enhanced staffing ratios and dual diagnoses.

Casual professional work attire Growth opportunities This is an ideal entry-level position for those interested in pursuing a career in the social services field and working with this amazing population. •Primary Duties (not limited to): Implement Behavior Intervention and Prevention Plans to support individual growth Facilitate the integration of participants into community-based activities. Daily documentation of services rendered Assist individuals in acquiring functional skills for community integration, self-advocacy, vocational opportunities, self-care, money management, navigating benefits, etc Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals during all activities Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors, including self-injurious behavior, physical and verbal aggression, and other disruptive behaviors. Assist individual served with personal care including dressing, undressing, hygiene, toilet actives and other activities of daily living (ADL's) •if applicable• Maintain accurate and timely records of individual progress, incidents, and relevant information Monitor client progress towards goals Collaborate with other direct care staff and leadership to provide the highest quality support Safely transport clients to and from activities and community outings.

Requirements:

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in direct support with adults with disabilities or caregiving preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Basic-intermediate computer skills to be able to enter case notes into computer program and using company mobile app Valid CA Driver's License Must have a safe and reliable vehicle and maintain current and adequate auto insurance. Must be at least 21 years of age Must pass background check/criminal records clearance from DOJ (Live Scan Fingerprint) CPR/First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain before starting work) TB clearance (or willing to obtain before employment) Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese or ASL - a ++ (not required) Authorized to work in the U.S. Salary range is dependent on experience (DOE) •Some DSP roles involve transporting clients in your personal vehicle within a limited radius in southern Orange County.• With the right attitude, motivation and drive, we'll train the right people! Pay:

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
