Life Skills & Community Support Specialist Able Education Now Newport Beach, CA Job Details Part-time $27 - $30 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid training Flexible schedule Qualifications RBT Certification Passenger vehicle Special education Driver's License Direct support Budgeting Full Job Description Able Education Now is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Life Skills & Community Support Specialist to support teens and adults with developmental disabilities throughout Orange County. This is a community-based position focused on helping clients build independence, communication, vocational readiness, social skills, and daily living skills through individualized support in real-world environments. Sessions may take place in homes, libraries, coffee shops, restaurants, vocational sites, fitness centers, and other community settings.
Responsibilities may include:
Community-based support and outings Life skills and independence training Vocational support and job coaching Social communication support Money management and budgeting activities Transportation support during sessions Documentation and session notes
Qualifications:
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required Active auto insurance required Comfortable transporting clients in personal vehicle during sessions Strong communication and professionalism Calm, patient, and supportive personality Experience with disabilities, ABA, psychology, education, child development, or related fields preferred Ideal for: Psychology students/graduates, special education backgrounds, RBTs, behavior support staff, future SLP/OT professionals, and individuals passionate about neurodiversity and community inclusion. Part-time position with flexible scheduling based on client assignments. Paid training, supervision, and onboarding support provided.
Pay:
$27.00 - $30.00 per hour
