This vital role involves supporting patient care across various clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, emergency departments, and specialized units such as geriatrics, pediatrics, and trauma centers. The Healthcare Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient service, assist with clinical procedures, and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all patients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in diverse medical areas while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates. Support patient care activities by helping with mobility, hygiene, and comfort measures to promote recovery and well-being. Prepare examination rooms and assist during procedures such as X-rays, medication administration, or basic wound care. Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately to document patient information, treatment plans, and ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding details. Monitor patients' physiological responses and report any changes or concerns promptly to the medical team. Support hospital medicine units including medical-surgical wards, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and emergency departments in delivering efficient care. Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards in all clinical activities. Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, offering reassurance, and ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit or stay. Experience Prior experience working in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or emergency medicine environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of dermatology procedures and familiarity with inpatient and outpatient care settings will be advantageous. Experience supporting Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is preferred. Demonstrated ability to operate X-ray equipment or assist in radiology procedures is a plus. Background working within medical-surgical units or geriatrics enhances your suitability for this role. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or ICD coding are beneficial. Previous hospital experience involving internal medicine or urgent care settings will help you excel in this position.
