Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Lead Direct Support Professional to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized memory care. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee daily operations within residential and community-based settings, ensuring residents' safety, well-being, and independence. Duties Lead and supervise direct support staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on delivering high-quality care Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts Monitor vital signs and administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques Support residents with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and maintaining nutritional needs in accordance with dietary plans Conduct routine safety checks, cleaning, and sanitation of living spaces to ensure a healthy environment Document resident progress, incident reports, and care activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Drive residents to appointments or community outings as needed while maintaining safety standards Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs and preferences Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, families, and team members to coordinate comprehensive support Qualifications Proven experience in assisted living, or home & community care environments with a focus on Developmental disability care Strong knowledge of medication administration, Diabetes , psychosis, Anxiety, Autism, AWOL and behavior management techniques Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is essential Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and record-keeping Ability to perform personal care tasks safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts and assist with ADLs effectively Excellent communication skills to lead staff effectively and engage positively with residents and families Valid driver's license for transportation duties if required by the role Certifications such as RBT, CPI, DSP1 and DSP 2 cert, First Aid/CPR are highly preferred; ongoing training in assisted living or long-term care is advantageous Join us as a Lead Direct Support Professional where your energy fuels compassionate caregiving! Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
