Developmental Disabilities Support Coach JT/BT family San Jose, CA Job Details Part-time From $40 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Recycling Assisting with ADLs Direct support Cleaning Patient personal care assistance Full Job Description Looking for a MALE between 30 and 50 years old to work with two adult males in their 30's with a developmental disability. They are independent and there is not any physical care needed. This is not a nursing or daycare position. It is more like coach or teacher. You must be physically fit and willing to work out at the gym daily (to support one of them). This is an interactive job that requires a dynamic personality and willingness to be creative. You must be able to come up with social and volunteer opportunities for them .

Days:

Mondays (can increase to include Wednesdays)

Time:

9:30 am to 1:30 pm

Pay:

$40 to start (will be opportunities for an occasional evening or weekend day for a few hours) You will have to do Live Scan (finger printing) and get paid by an agency twice a month. You must have a car and live within 15 miles of our home. Job Overview The ideal candidate must have experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and a passion for fostering growth and independence in others. In this role, you will work closely with two adult males. The 40 year old, likes to collect things. You will assist with hygiene reminders, help him clean/clear out his room, help curb his hoarding into something productive, and work with him on recycling (which is his passion). The 34 year old has a tendency to be lazy and loves technology. You will take him to the gym first thing and remind him of hygiene. You will also pursue volunteer opportunities with him.
