Direct Support Professional

DSP (Direct Support Professional) We are seeking individuals that can do the following responsibilities; include helping behavioral, and developmentally disabled children with daily activities, accompanying or transporting them to medical/dental appointments, preparing and serving meals, performing light housekeeping duties, running errands, and providing companionship and/or problem solving with residents as needed. Also included would be the responsibility of charting residents progress daily based on observations made during specified shift. Finally, we have a strong need for staff that are already in possession of their DSP Year I and/or DSP Year II. Starting pay for someone with DSP Year I will be $16 per hour. '

Duties:

Reading, writing, and carrying out directions Charting or taking notes for others to review Providing companionship and supportive listening Redirecting, problem solving, and mitigating behaviors displayed by children Reporting changes in the health or status of the client Taking vitals, height, and weight Feeding clients Maintaining patient's health equipment Responding to emergency situations Administering medication Transporting client to appointments Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities Hours per week: 8 - 32 hours weekly Typical end time: varies Typical start time: varies
