THE OPPORTUNITY
Ever Well is searching for a caring and compassionate Residential Care Assistant to join our growing team. The Residential Care Assistant is a major contributor to our core mission and serves as a direct line of support within our residential communities, creating a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for adults experiencing significant mental or emotional issues. This role supports structured residential treatment within an integrated care model that includes housing, nutrition, and 24-hour supervision. Sunday-Thursday Tuesday-Saturday Friday-Monday 6:00AM-3:00PM 2:00PM-11:00PM 10:30PM-6:30AM Weekends and Holidays as Scheduled Required to drive agency vehicles; must be at least 21 years of age to meet insurance requirements. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Aid and support residents in all areas of daily living, working individually and in groups, including prompting, escorting, supervising, and assisting residents both in small groups and one-on-one as needed. Provide transportation in agency vehicle for agency business (residents, supplies, food, etc.). Remind residents of medical appointments and assist residents with self-administered medications as appropriate. Encourage and assist residents with tasks to manage medical conditions (e.g., diabetes management, special diets, incontinence support including laundry, changing sheets, and cleaning rooms). Lead and engage residents in planned group activities and outings with supervision. Attend and participate in staff, program, facility, and training meetings as required. Assure that facility, resident, and program areas are clean, organized, and safe. REQUIREMENTS - WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR A
dependable, service-oriented team member who exercises sound judgment, remains calm under pressure, and is committed to providing structured, compassionate support in a licensed residential setting. REQUIRED - EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Caregiving experience: 1 year (Required). Emergency management experience or ability to be trained. Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Experience exercising good judgment and acting calmly in emergency situations. REQUIRED - ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTES
Excellent team player and communicator with all levels of staff. Tact and diplomacy when working with vendors and outside parties. Ability to read and understand documents; write simple memos and reports; and speak effectively with residents and staff. Ability to engage and communicate with residents in an empathetic manner. Ability to work effectively with persons differing in value systems, ethnicity, cultural backgrounds, language capabilities, and disabilities. Ability to follow directions and work within a program and systems structure. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and emergency situations. High degree of discretion and independent judgment. High emotional and collective awareness. Calm under pressure. Great sense of humor and values humility. Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States. REQUIRED - CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Valid California driver's license, current automobile insurance, and good driving record. DMV pull program enrollment. Current First Aid Certificate. CPR Certification. REQUIRED - PHYSICAL
Walking, sitting, pinching, finger flexion, and visual/auditory acuity required constantly (over 2/3 of the workday). Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and twisting required occasionally (under 1/3 of the workday). Balancing, climbing, and crawling generally not required.
