Position Summary:
The Job Coach is an individual who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Job coaching involves providing on-the-job training and support to help the individual learn and perform job tasks, as well as developing positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors. Job coaches help clients develop essential job skills and improve their overall quality of life. Supported Employment Services:
Supported Employment Services refer to a specific type of employment support available to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who are enrolled in a Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver program. Supported Employment Services are designed to assist individuals with IDD in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment in the community. Supported Employment Services are designed to promote community integration and social inclusion for individuals with IDD, while also helping them achieve financial independence and self-sufficiency. The goal of these services is to help individuals with IDD overcome barriers to employment and succeed in the workplace, which can lead to improved quality of life and greater independence. Responsibilities:
Know and abide by Rules & Regulations associated with services and supports. Assist clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in finding, securing, and maintaining employment opportunities that match their interests, skills, and abilities Conduct assessments of clients' job readiness, including their strengths and challenges, to develop individualized employment plans Provide training and support to clients in job-related skills such as communication, time management, and task completion Collaborate with employers to ensure that clients receive the necessary accommodations and support to succeed on the job Monitor clients' job performance, provide feedback and coaching to help them improve and address any concerns or issues that arise Assist clients with navigating the workplace culture, developing positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors, and resolving conflicts if needed Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' progress, goals, behaviors, and other relevant information. Ensure documentation, notes, and any data tracking is completed each day by the end of the shift. Review, acknowledge, and understand client's documents ollow the client's supervision levels in accordance with the individual's Service Plan. Constantly supervise the client's health, welfare, morale, and recreation. Teaching through our "gentle teaching methods" Participate in training, professional development opportunities, performance reviews, Service Plan, Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), and staff meetings and to ensure quality services are provided Complete other tasks assigned by the Program Director or Manager as needed Maintain scheduling flexibility Provide coverage for employees and staff as needed Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, education, vocational rehabilitation) preferred, high school diploma or GED Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and up to date insurance and registration Clear background checks: Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS), Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and driving record Working Conditions:
This is a full-time or part-time position, typically working two 4-hour shifts each day (8am-12pm and 1:15pm-5:15pm) Monday through Friday. The Job Coach will work in a variety of settings. The Job Coach may be required to physically assist clients who have mobility needs. PLEASE NOTE
The Job Coach is required to use their personal vehicle to transport clients and must provide proof of valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and vehicle registration prior to the start date. Job Type:
