ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL

This young individual lives at home in Centennial. She likes to stay busy and enjoys activities such as horse back riding, cheerleading, shopping, and going out to eat. This individual requires physical assistance with all ADLs such as bathing, dressing, toileting, incontinence care, and mobility. She utilizes a wheelchair for all mobility needs and requires assistance with all transfers. Staff will not be required to use their personal vehicle for transportation as the individual use her own wheelchair accessible van. This individual may exhibit behaviors such as pinching, grabbing, hair pulling, and other forms of physical interaction, so staff must be confident in managing challenging behaviors while promoting a safe and supportive environment.

SHIFT:

Thursday-Saturday 7:00am - 7:00pm

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED Experience with positive behavior supports Active and/or creative Mature & dependable individual; minimum age of 21 Valid Colorado Driver's License Must meet background and reference requirements Clean Driving Record. No suspensions & less than three tickets in the last three years. Computer/smart phone skills sufficient to complete required documentation.

JOB DUTIES

Provide direct care and supervision to a person with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community and in personal home. Assist individual in completing living skills, money management, crafts, community participation, hygiene routine, and meal preparation. Plan and carry out a variety of recreational activities to advance social development (museums, parks, dances, recreation center, etc.). Provide transportation utilizing wheelchair accessible van Assist with medical care / hygiene care as needed (medication administration, toileting, incontinence care, bathing, etc.).
