Direct Service Professional (Community & Group Outings Focus) Support Community Connections. Build Independence. Create Lasting Memories. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) focused on community integration and employment support, you will help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities explore, engage, and thrive in real-world environments. From group volunteer projects and recreational outings to individualized job coaching and community-based employment, you will support people in services in building independence, developing job skills, and forming meaningful connections in their communities. This work is often described by team members as life-changing and unbelievably rewarding—and we are looking for someone ready to take on that challenge. What You'll Do Lead and support group outings such as volunteer work, recreational activities, shopping trips, and social events Provide transportation and supervision to ensure safe and positive community engagement Teach and model appropriate social skills and community behavior in real-world settings Encourage participation, independence, and self-determination during group activities Collaborate with team members to create engaging outing opportunities tailored to individual interests and goals Maintain a positive, fun, and supportive environment where all participants feel included Advocate for individuals in public settings and foster acceptance and inclusion in the broader community Additional Opportunities Support individuals in exploring community-based employment interests and opportunities Collaborate with employment-focused team members to reinforce job-related skills during outings Opportunity to cross-train in employment support and job coaching services Documentation & Support Complete daily notes, behavior tracking, and documentation within 24 hours Provide crisis prevention and intervention support as needed (NVCI training provided) Support individuals in alignment with their individualized service plans and behavior protocols Who You Are You are energetic, reliable, and enjoy being out in the community. You thrive in both group and one-on-one settings. You are organized enough to manage logistics and documentation, yet flexible enough to adapt when plans shift. You are patient, solution-focused, and passionate about helping others build confidence and independence. You understand that community inclusion and meaningful employment are powerful tools for dignity and self-determination. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor's degree preferred) 1-2 years of professional or volunteer experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred Must be 18 years or older Active driver's license and reliable transportation required Able to meet the physical demands of supervising and assisting individuals in community and workplace settings Ability to pass background checks and meet state requirements Why Join Sample Supports?
