PM Note:
This position involves working 1:1 in the community. Staff must be comfortable with transporting in personal car. Mileage is reimbursed for approved work-related transport. Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide care and support to individuals for individualized day program support. Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation Support and transport individuals in participating in social and recreational activities Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals Help individuals with disabilities navigate their home and community environments Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff to ensure the well-being of individuals Skills Experience working with people with disabilities, autism, or senior care Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary Knowledge of social work principles and practices Familiarity with assisting individuals in assisted living, group home, and or 1 on 1 residential settings Proficiency in monitoring vital signs and responding to medical emergencies Qualifications Must have a vehicle Must have a valid/current driver's license, car registration and car insurance Successful clearance of background checks Basic computer skills
