Job Description

Personal Care Assistant Duties:
  • Provide assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in their daily activities
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for the individuals
  • Follow HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality of personal information
  • Monitor and record vital signs as directed by a nurse or healthcare professional
  • Provide support and companionship to individuals receiving hospice care
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding if necessary
  • Perform heavy lifting as required to transfer individuals safely
Experience:
  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred
  • Knowledge of ADLs and experience providing personal care assistance
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality
  • Experience in monitoring vital signs is a plus
  • Understanding of hospice care principles and practices is beneficial
  • Ability to prepare meals according to dietary restrictions or preferences
