Job Description

NAFI Connecticut provides programs, consultation, and support services in a variety of settings across Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island. We work with adults, children, and families to increase communication and social skills, improve relationships, increase circles of support, and provide therapeutic services based on best-practice research. We believe that people can change, and we work to empower each individual in their own care. We are currently exploring candidates for Youth Care Professionals in our residential program in Litchfield, CT. The UC program provides compassionate, trauma-informed, short-term residential care for unaccompanied children. The program offers robust clinical, therapeutic, educational, and case management services to young women ages 13-17 while working to reunite them with family members or other identified sponsors.
Responsibilities Include:
Serve as key staff member for clients assigned to you, assuring supervision and accountability Be available to fulfill staff vacancies on an as-needed basis Maintain professional boundaries Ensure client safety is a priority Ensure client success by implementing an effective daily schedule that inspires clients to achieve goals Demonstrate and role model strong interpersonal skills, pro-social behaviors, and professional responsibility to the internal and external community Demonstrate computer literacy by utilizing an electronic health record to ensure timely, accurate, and well-written documentation of clients' activities Attend and participate in staff meetings Participate in and facilitate program group sessions when appropriate Prepare summaries of interactions and objective behavioral observations of clients at the end of each shift Participate in staff training, maintain certifications as appropriate and required, and demonstrate the ability to pass proficiency tests where appropriate Provide safe transportation for clients as necessary, including assisting and managing medical appointments, airport travel and family reunifications. Perform crisis prevention and interventions including de-escalation techniques Complete other related duties as assigned Perform all duties in accordance with the Agency's policies and procedures Light cooking and cleaning as part of daily assigned tasks

Desired Qualifications:
High school diploma required Driver's license required 1 year or more of healthcare, child welfare, human service, and/or social service experience
Required:
Bilingual (Spanish/English) Weekend shifts are required for all positions Medication certified required (NAFI will assist with obtaining certificate)
Hourly Rate:
$19.55 per hour 3rd Shift hours: 10:30pm - 8:30am
