5 Hours Per Week Are you passionate about helping others and making a meaningful impact in your community? As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our Day Services program, you will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by promoting independence, dignity, personal growth, and community involvement in a safe and supportive environment. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, dependable, patient, and enjoys working directly with individuals to help them reach their personal goals while enhancing their overall quality of life.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and daily support to individuals participating in Day Services programming Assist individuals with personal care, hygiene, meals, medication administration, and daily living needs as required Support participants with emotional wellbeing, positive behavioral supports, communication, and social skill development Coordinate and lead recreational, educational, vocational, and community-based activities that encourage independence and engagement Safely transport individuals to community outings, appointments, and program activities when needed Monitor and document participant progress, behavioral changes, health concerns, and daily observations while maintaining accurate and confidential records Maintain a clean, safe, and organized program environment while following all health, safety, OSHA, and infection control procedures Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, families, healthcare providers, and outside agencies to ensure quality care and support Respond appropriately to emergencies and assist in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of all individuals served Attend and participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to complete required agency trainings, including CPR, First Aid, PMT, and DDS Medication Administration Certification Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills Ability to lift, transfer, and physically assist individuals as needed Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office; Therap experience preferred This position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, positively impact lives, and be part of a supportive team dedicated to helping individuals thrive both within the program and in the community.
