Job Description
Job Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant, where your dedication and empathy will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. In this vital role, you will provide attentive assistance to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your proactive approach and caring nature will foster a positive environment that promotes independence and dignity for those you serve. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals Support medication administration in accordance with care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe handling during transfers and heavy lifting tasks Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas through regular cleaning and sanitation practices Document patient observations, care activities, and updates accurately in compliance with healthcare standards Experience French Speaking Candidates Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Familiarity with care plans, medication administration protocols, patient monitoring techniques, and vital signs measurement is essential Experience with patient observation, assisting with ADLs, social work practices related to caregiving, and long-term care settings will strengthen your application Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and working with mobility aids like Hoyer lifts confidently and safely Join us to provide compassionate caregiving that empowers individuals to live healthier, happier lives.
