In this vital role, you will empower residents to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals. Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including cooking and meal planning. Support residents during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols. Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA and assist in updating care plans regularly. Skills Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, or home health environments. Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and patient monitoring. Strong understanding of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, and hospice or end-of-life care. Ability to perform first aid and CPR confidently; certifications preferred but not required. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges; familiarity with HIPAA regulations is essential. Excellent observational skills for patient safety, patient monitoring, and recognizing emergency situations promptly. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting residents with mobility using Hoyer lifts or other equipment.
