Personal Care Assistant Willimantic, CT 06226 $17.25 - $18.00 an hour - Part-time $17.25 - $18.00 an hour - Part-time Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including home, community, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. This role is vital in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient-centered care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse care needs. Willimantic, CT:
Schedule is, Monday, Wednesday & Friday 10am-3pm and Monday-Friday 10a-1p Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans Support patients with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and assistive devices Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior Maintain accurate documentation of care provided while adhering to HIPAA regulations Perform light cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and hygienic environment Assist with memory care strategies for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease Support patients during outings or community activities to promote social engagement Follow prescribed care plans and collaborate with healthcare professionals including nurses and social workers Qualifications Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care preferred Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital signs measurement Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance are a plus Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia is highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed Join our team to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve by providing compassionate, professional personal care tailored to individual needs.
