Home Health Aide Washington, DC 20020 $33.82 - $38.69 an hour - Temporary, Part-time, Full-time $33.82 - $38.69 an hour - Temporary, Part-time, Full-time Overview Join our compassionate team as a Home Health Aide, where your dedication and caregiving skills will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support at home. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance to promote independence, comfort, and well-being for patients across diverse care needs. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a safe, nurturing environment for those in your care, ensuring they receive the highest quality of home healthcare services. Duties Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, medication adherence, and overall condition; document findings accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Support patients with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory care, and end-of-life hospice care Administer medications following medical documentation protocols and home healthcare regulations Perform catheter care, wound care, and other medical procedures as trained and authorized Help with light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe living environment Use assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids to safely transfer or reposition patients Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare agencies preferred Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and medical documentation practices Hands-on experience with vital signs monitoring, CPR certification, basic life support (BLS), and first aid training required Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR systems for accurate recordkeeping Experience providing geriatric care or working with elderly populations in a home or community setting is highly valued Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks associated with caregiving roles Join us to provide compassionate, energetic care that empowers individuals to live comfortably and safely at home.
