Job Description

Location:
Washington, D.C. (Foggy Bottom area)
Position Type:
Full-time, Part-time, and Weekend (Up to 40 hours per week)
Hourly Rate:
$22.77 per hour
Anticipated Start Date:
8/16/2026 Job Summary This position is a direct-hire role working for an independent, physically disabled adult male student relocating to Washington, D.C. to pursue a rigorous university curriculum. The objective of this role is to provide comprehensive, high-reliability personal care, mobility management, and academic navigation support to ensure full participation in educational, career, and personal pursuits. This position operates as a legitimate W-2 employment arrangement. While you will report directly to the student (the employer) to manage daily operational tasks, all onboarding documentation, payroll processing, and tax compliance are handled through an established administrative payroll service. This is an excellent opportunity for nursing majors, pre-medical tracks, allied health students, or experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) seeking competitive compensation within an academic setting.
Core Responsibilities Campus & Mobility Navigation:
Provide assistance with accompanying and logistical support to ensure seamless, punctual navigation through university facilities, academic buildings, and the surrounding Washington, D.C. community.
Dormitory Residence Support:
Deliver reliable, dedicated support within the student's university dormitory room. Assist with maintaining an organized and accessible living space, structuring equipment and tech for ease of use, performing light housekeeping/laundry tasks, and ensuring overall health and safety compliance within a non-smoking campus residential environment.
Daily Living Care:
Deliver precise, dignified assistance with personal hygiene (including bathing, grooming, and dressing), high-nutrition meal preparation, feeding assistance, medication reminders, and general daily living routines. Perform safe transfers using a Hoyer Lift.
Community Transportation & Companionship:
Accompany the client to appointments, academic events, errands, and community outings, providing professional companionship and support. Assist with navigating public transportation systems, ensuring safe boarding, transit positioning, and arrival logistics.
Administrative Documentation:
Maintain accurate, legible daily logs of all services provided to satisfy compliance guidelines and clear weekly timesheet reconciliation.
Position Requirements Uncompromised Reliability:
Absolute punctuality, dependability, and a commitment to autonomy-respecting care are strict operational requirements. Because this care infrastructure directly supports a university schedule, attendance consistency is critical to safeguarding academic progress.
Professional Communication:
Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
Background Screening:
Must successfully pass a mandatory multi-state criminal background check and healthcare registry screening.
Qualifications:
Minimum age of 18 years.
Compensation & Structural Benefits Premium Wage:
Flat $22.77 per hour.
Scheduling Matrix:
Morning, afternoon, evening, overnight, and weekend blocks are available up to 40 hours weekly.
Compliance Backing:
Fully tax-compliant W-2 payroll infrastructure. How to Apply To apply for this position, please submit your resume and a brief introduction through Indeed Messenger.
