Behavioral Support - Direct Support Professional (DSP)

EVV Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an individual with developmental disabilities who requires light behavioral intervention and structured support in their daily life. This role involves meal preparation , behavioral support , and implementation of strategies to manage maladaptive behaviors in a safe and respectful way. The ideal candidate is trained in behavior management , able to remain calm under pressure , and certified in PCM (Professional Crisis Management) and/or CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) .

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and assist with daily meals in accordance with dietary needs and safety guidelines Provide 1:1 behavioral support to manage aggressive, impulsive, or maladaptive behaviors Implement behavior intervention strategies and follow a structured behavioral support plan Engage the individual in meaningful and structured activities, reinforcing positive behaviors Monitor and document behavioral incidents , progress, and daily routines Collaborate with family, supervisors, and clinical staff to maintain consistent support Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment at all times

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities Experience supporting individuals with aggressive or behavioral challenges Certification in PCM (Professional Crisis Management) and/or CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in high-stress situations Strong communication, observation, and de-escalation skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if applicable) Ability to pass a Level 2 background check and local law background screening

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in behavioral health or direct care Familiarity with positive behavior support plans (PBSPs) or behavioral data collection CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
