In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and foster a safe, engaging environment. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve while ensuring their safety and well-being through attentive care and compassionate interaction. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions, ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care protocols, maintaining accurate documentation of medication administration Support residents in participating in social activities and community outings to promote engagement and independence Maintain a clean, safe living environment by performing regular cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards Follow detailed care plans designed by healthcare professionals to meet individual needs and goals Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), autism support, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for patient transfer or mobility assistance Excellent communication skills with a caring attitude toward residents and team members Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed Join us as a Direct Support Professional where your compassion meets action!
