The DSP will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring assistance in a group home or home care setting. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by promoting independence and dignity while ensuring their safety and well-being. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Monitor and document vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes in health status are reported promptly. Support clients with dementia care, memory care, and other specific needs related to their conditions. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to hygiene standards and best practices. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs. Assist in transportation to appointments or community activities as required. Provide first aid assistance when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all clients. Requirements Previous experience in senior care, home care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care, memory care techniques, and vital sign monitoring is highly desirable. Ability to cook nutritious meals that meet dietary restrictions or preferences of clients. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Certification in First Aid or CPR is a plus. Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations. A compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality support and care.
