Full Job Description Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support for an individual with ADHD, Autism and intellectual disabilities . The role focuses on assisting with daily living activities , mobility , mealtime , hygiene , and engaging, therapeutic activities in a supportive and structured environment.
Responsibilities:
Daily Living Assistance:
Provide regular prompting for restroom use and/or toiletry Assist with personal hygiene , including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral care Ensure individual's health and safety at all times through attentive and proactive support
Mealtime Support:
Monitor for safe eating practices
Document:
Meal details (foods consumed) Observation of medication administration by authorized family Method of medication delivery , as observed
Motor Skill Development Activities:
Encourage engagement in skill-building tasks such as: Shape sorting hand games
Puzzles Leisure & Engagement:
Support participation in preferred activities, including: Watching TV Playing games Listening to music Sitting in preferred seating areas
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (required) Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (preferred) Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills Patience, empathy, and a commitment to person-centered care Ability to work independently and within a care team
Physical & Other Requirements:
Ability to lift, bend, and assist with physical transfers Ability to provide constant supervision and engagement CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Level 2 background screening check (required) Ability to pass a local law enforcement background check (required) High school diploma or GED equivalent (required) Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred Professional references (required) Preferred but
Not Required:
Experience supporting individuals with Autism and ADHD Familiarity with behavioral support strategies
Shift:
Monday thru Friday 7 AM - 12 PM Monday thru Friday 5 PM - 8
PM Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$16.00 per hour
