Opens a new window. • In-Person Hiring Event• The Home Health Aide is a frontline employee who reports directly to the registered nurse responsible for the care of the elderly patients. The Home Health Aide is responsible for following the written assessment and care instructions provided by the registered nurse. These instructions include the patient's prescription medication schedule, bathing and grooming schedule, light housekeeping duties, and meal preparation needs. Meal preparation and snacks are generally provided three times per day. The Home Health Aide prepares meals, sets the table, or serves mails to bedridden patients as needed. Light housekeeping duties including mopping floors, washing dishes, and changing bed linens. The Home Health Aide may also transport the patient to and from medical appointees, shop for groceries, and provide companionship. In general, the Home Health Aide assists one or two patients per week. This is a full-time position, and the Home Health Aide is required to work 40 hours per week. Individual shifts average approximately six to eight hours. The Home Health Aide must also transmit their location and upload a daily timesheet using a smartphone or tablet. Applicants must possess at least one year of experience in the medical procession; however, the employer will also accept applicants who are Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The Home Health Aide must maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR, as well as certifications in HIPAA, Alzheimer's care, and HIV and Other Infectious Disease Management. A valid Florida driver's license and successful completion of a Level II background check are required. The position also requires travel within Leon, Jefferson, Wakulla, Gadsden, Madison, Franklin, and Taylor Counties, Florida.
