Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether supporting residents in group homes, assisted living facilities, or through home and community care, your efforts will empower individuals to thrive in a nurturing environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop rewarding relationships while honing your caregiving skills in a dynamic setting. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's as needed Monitor patient vital signs and observe changes in health status to ensure safety and well-being Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary guidelines, ensuring proper meal timing and cleanliness standards Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and any incidents in compliance with healthcare regulations Support residents' emotional and social needs through engaging activities and companionship to foster a positive environment Perform light cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards within living spaces and common areas Qualifications Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or in senior or hospice care preferred Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, and basic patient monitoring techniques required; certification is a plus Experience with assisted living environments or home health care strongly preferred Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks necessary for patient support and mobility assistance Familiarity with medication administration, care plans, and HIPAA compliance essential for ensuring quality care Strong observational skills for patient safety and health monitoring; patience and compassion are vital qualities High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in nursing assistance or social work are advantageous Embark on a fulfilling career that champions compassion, respect, and empowerment.
