Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with diverse needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance, promote safety, and foster a supportive environment for residents across various care settings. Your energetic approach and attentive care will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, ensuring they receive respectful, dignified support every day. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing valuable skills in healthcare and social services. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet dietary needs and preferences of residents Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in resident rooms, common areas, and activity spaces Support residents during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence Follow established care plans for individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other special needs including memory care and hospice care Skills Strong understanding of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of distress or health issues Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance, and medication administration protocols Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers Compassionate attitude with patience for working with individuals with disabilities or age-related conditions like dementia or Alzheimer's disease Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately while maintaining confidentiality and respecting resident rights Join us in creating a positive impact through dedicated caregiving!
