Direct Support Professional Tampa, FL 33604 $17.50 - $18.50 an hour - Part-time $17.50 - $18.50 an hour - Part-time Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where your compassionate care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and residents. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to nursing staff by assisting with daily patient care, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity for individuals across various healthcare settings. All roles are paid positions, emphasizing the value we place on your skills and dedication. Responsibilities Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record daily activities accurately, documenting all information within the electronic health record (EHR) system Provide specialized care for individuals with intellectual disabilities Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in various settings including hospitals (Level I Trauma Centers, ICU, PICU), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, and home care environments. Utilize medical terminology knowledge to accurately document patient interactions and contribute to comprehensive medical records. Support emergency responses by applying basic life support skills when necessary and operating equipment like Hoyer lifts safely. Engage in ongoing training related to geriatrics, pediatric care, infectious disease management, hospice care, and behavioral health to enhance patient outcomes. Experience Prior experience working in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Experience in acute care environments including hospitals with Level II or Level I trauma center experience is preferred. Background in specialized areas such as ICU, emergency medicine, medical-surgical units, or post-acute care settings will be advantageous. Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges enhances your ability to provide compassionate support. Certification in basic life support (BLS) is required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology principles supports effective patient monitoring and care delivery.
