Personal Care Assistant Helen Needs LLC Tampa, FL Job Details Part-time $16 - $18 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications CPR Certification First Aid Certification Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, home health environments, and community programs. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those experiencing memory care challenges such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. The ideal candidate will be energetic, attentive, and committed to promoting independence, safety, and well-being through personalized care. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor patients' health status by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report changes to healthcare professionals Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans developed by healthcare teams Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning personal spaces and common areas Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's (personal assistive devices) for safe transfers and mobility assistance Observe and document patient conditions accurately, including behavioral changes or signs of distress for proper care planning Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care delivery in accordance with care plans Support residents in participating in social activities or community outings to enhance quality of life Skills Proven experience working in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or long-term care environments Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring Ability to assist with ADLs effectively while maintaining dignity and respect for clients' independence Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information Strong communication skills for interacting empathetically with clients, families, and healthcare teams Ability to perform light cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards within care environments Experience with specialized care such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease management, memory care, autism support or developmental disabilities is highly desirable CPR and First Aid certification required; additional certifications like Hoyer lift operation or medication administration are a plus Physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and assisting residents with mobility needs safely Compassionate attitude combined with patience and adaptability in dynamic caregiving situations Join us in delivering compassionate care that transforms lives!
