Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will work closely with residents to promote independence, ensure safety, and enhance quality of life. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by healthcare providers Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and proper manual handling techniques Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental and emotional well-being Document care activities accurately in compliance with health regulations such as HIPAA and facility policies Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or neurodevelopmental disorders Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA compliance, and documentation standards in healthcare environments Experience with manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts and performing patient monitoring tasks Background in geriatrics, hospice care, or long-term care settings is advantageous Strong communication skills rooted in social work principles to foster trust and understanding with residents Join us as a Direct Support Professional where your dedication transforms lives!
