Job Description

About us Creative Enterprises is a day program that teaches individuals social, life, job, and community living skills based on each individual's needs to assist them become as independent as possible. Creative Enterprises seeks a compassionate and caring individual to work with people with developmental disabilities; experience is a plus. You do not have to have teaching experience, although some would be helpful. We ask for a high school diploma or GED and must pass a background check. We are currently looking for five days a week, and you are eligible for full-time benefits after being with us for a year. An ideal candidate would be someone looking for a long-term position. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Follow each individual's person-centered plan
  • Have a plan for the day, teaching job skills, social skills, or other functional life skills and provide intsruction to individuals to increase each perosn's independence.
  • Complete progress notes on a computer in our program for the activities and how goals were met throughout the day.
  • Engage individuals in meaningful activities throughout the day
  • Drive in the community with the group to activities/outings using a 14 passenger vehicle.
  • Provide "eyes-on" supervision at all times for any participants in the facility.
  • Maintain a positive learning/social environment and encourage self-advocacy as well as advocate for those who need it.
  • Be a team player; organization, neatness, cleanliness are a plus.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, required. Experience with people with developmental disabilities, a plus.
  • Comeptencies in active listening, basic teaching, task analysis, behavior management skills (mostly emotional behaviors), person-centered planning and advocacy for those who may not be able to advocate for themself.
Hours:
:
  • Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:30; position includes a "working lunch" with fullresponsibility for eyes-on supervision of clients from 8:30 am
  • 3:00pm.
