Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in their daily lives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference by assisting with personal needs, promoting independence, and ensuring safety and well-being. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will work closely with clients in various settings such as assisted living facilities, home care environments, group homes, and nursing homes. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive, respectful environment for those you serve. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report any concerns promptly Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and cooking Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning tasks to promote hygiene and comfort Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids to assist with safe patient transfers and heavy lifting when necessary Observe patients closely for changes in condition or behavior, especially those with dementia, Alzheimer's, autism or other developmental disabilities; document observations accurately Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures and CPR certification requirements to respond effectively during emergencies Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to update care plans and ensure comprehensive support Experience Prior experience working in assisted living, home health, hospice care or nursing home environments is highly preferred Demonstrated experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities or memory care needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease Familiarity with patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and care plan implementation Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information at all times Experience using mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or working with residents requiring assisted transfers is advantageous Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly Strong background in caregiving roles involving social work principles or long-term care settings enhances your effectiveness in this position Join us in providing compassionate care that transforms lives!
