Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, dementia, autism, and other health conditions. In this vital role, you will foster a safe, supportive environment that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being. Your dedication will directly impact the quality of life for those you serve, ensuring they receive personalized care in both home and community settings. Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report any changes to healthcare professionals promptly Administer medication following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning in accordance with dietary requirements and preferences Support residents during recreational activities and social outings to promote engagement and community integration Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning common areas and personal spaces Follow established protocols for emergency response including CPR, First Aid, and hospice or memory care procedures when needed Skills Proven experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes or home & community care environments Strong knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and patient monitoring Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate equipment like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs Excellent observation skills for patient safety, dementia or Alzheimer's care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams, residents, families, and social workers Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and training in dementia or hospice care are highly desirable Join us in making a positive impact every day!
