Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with diverse needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance, promote community engagement, and ensure safety and well-being for those you serve. Your enthusiasm and proactive attitude will help create a positive environment where clients feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their goals. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day through hands-on care and dedicated support. Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or assistive devices. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe their health status, reporting any changes or concerns promptly. Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA confidentiality guidelines to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness standards are maintained. Support individuals in community outings, social activities, and recreational programs to foster independence and social engagement. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, patient progress, and incident reports in accordance with agency policies. Perform light cleaning duties within client living spaces to promote a safe, hygienic environment conducive to health and comfort. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in assisted living environments. Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures essential for ensuring safety during crises. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care practices. Ability to work effectively with patients exhibiting behavioral challenges or special needs such as autism or other cognitive impairments. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and patient care assessments. Experience with medication administration, care planning, and working within HIPAA regulations. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting residents with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's . Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, families, and healthcare providers effectively.
