Job Description

Direct Support Professional Comfort Care Plus Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide vital assistance and care to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities or health challenges. In this role, you will be a dedicated advocate, helping residents maintain their independence, safety, and well-being. Your positive attitude and proactive approach will foster a supportive environment where clients feel valued and empowered. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing your skills in caregiving, health monitoring, and community support. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment . Monitor client health by taking vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide medication administration following care plans and ensure proper storage and documentation of all medications Support residents during meal preparation, cooking, and feeding to promote nutritional health and independence Engage residents in social activities and community outings to enhance their quality of life and promote social interaction Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing cleaning duties consistent with health standards Observe and report changes in residents' physical or mental condition ensuring prompt response and communication with healthcare teams Skills Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments Knowledge of client care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and client monitoring Certification in First Aid and CPR; familiarity with HIPAA regulations for client privacy compliance Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility equipment Strong observational skills for client safety and health status updates; patience and empathy for working with vulnerable populations Basic cooking skills for meal preparation; understanding of care plans tailored to individual needs Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals and families Education High School Diploma Join us in creating a nurturing environment where every individual receives respectful, personalized care.
