Personal Care Assistant (PCA) - In‑Home Care Position Overview The Personal Care Assistant provides compassionate, reliable, and professional in‑home support to clients who need assistance with daily living activities. This role helps clients maintain comfort, safety, dignity, and independence within their own homes. Key Responsibilities Personal Care Support — Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility needs while maintaining client dignity and privacy. Companionship — Provide social interaction, conversation, and emotional support to enhance the client's well‑being. Meal Preparation — Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and assist with feeding when required. Light Housekeeping — Maintain a clean and safe home environment, including laundry, dishes, and general tidying. Medication Reminders — Prompt clients to take medications on schedule (no medication administration Safety Monitoring — Observe and report any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to supervisors or family members. Mobility Assistance — Support safe transfers, walking, and use of mobility aids. Transportation/Errands — Assist with appointments, shopping, and errands as needed (if permitted by agency). Documentation — Maintain accurate daily logs, care notes, and incident reports. Qualifications Experience in home care, caregiving, or related field preferred Ability to follow care plans and communicate effectively Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and professionalism Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor Ability to support clients safely Valid driver's license ( transportation is required) CPR/First Aid certification required Background check and references required Core Competencies Reliability — Consistently arrives on time, completes tasks, and follows through on commitments Professionalism — Maintains boundaries, confidentiality, and a positive attitude Communication — Clear, respectful communication with clients, families, and supervisors Adaptability — Able to adjust to changing client needs and home environments Empathy — Understands and responds to client needs with compassion Work Environment This position takes place in private homes and may involve working with clients who have disabilities or age‑related conditions.
