https://magnoliagardens.bamboohr.com/careers/32 About the Position Magnolia Gardens PCH, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1-on-1 Direct Support Professional to provide individualized support to one adult male participant with developmental disabilities in our Adult Day Program. The DSP will accompany the individual on the van to and from the program and provide support throughout the day to ensure safety, engagement, and participation in planned activities. This is a meaningful role for someone who enjoys building supportive relationships and helping individuals succeed in structured day programs. Key Responsibilities Support the participant in engaging in all planned program activities (exercise groups, discussions, games, crafts, etc.) Assist with sign-in/sign-out and document items brought to the program Provide personal care support as needed (coats, ambulation, transferring, lavatory needs, eating, hand washing, etc.) Review the daily communication book for updates about the participant or program Assist with meal and snack setup/cleanup; monitor kitchen and cleaning supplies Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, activities, observations, and incidents Promote positive interactions and help the participant fully participate in group activities Support smooth and safe transportation by riding with the participant on the program van Skills & Competencies Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or autism (preferred) Understanding of ADLs, behavior support, and general care needs Knowledge of participant rights and basic regulatory expectations Strong communication skills when interacting with participants, families, and colleagues Ability to remain calm, patient, and empathetic Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation Ability to work collaboratively with team members Qualifications Minimum of one year of experience working with adults, preferably those with developmental disabilities Knowledge of physical, social, and emotional support needs of individuals with disabilities Strong interpersonal skills with participants, staff, and volunteers Flexibility to adapt to schedule or activity changes CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire Computer skills necessary to write daily documentation Why Join Magnolia Gardens?
