Job Function Every effort has been made to make the job description as complete as possible. Major Duties and Responsibilities 1. Implementation of member goals and planned daily activities. 2. Documentation of member goals and planned daily activities. 3. Organization and cleanliness of work environment. 4. Provide a secure and enriching environment for the residents. 5. Provide information concerning residents to inter-disciplinary team to aid in the formulation or adjustment of member's plans. 6. Monitor and maintain all member programming files. 7. Assist, instruct, and supervise members in all areas identified. 8. Document on all major and minor incidents that involve members. 9. Other duties as assigned. Specific Requirements 1. Must be 18 years of age or older. 2. Possess a valid Iowa Driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and a clear driving record as identified by TRG's insurance carrier. 3. Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. 4. Possess the ability to work within the team to ensure optimal service delivery to the members of the program 5. Successfully interact with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health issues, or any other identified disability. Working Conditions 1. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. 2. Interacts with individual and/or groups of members in community settings. 3. Provides transportation to individual and/or groups of members. Physical Requirements 1. Must pass pre-employment physical. 2. Must be able to successfully interact with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, brain injury, or any other disability. 3. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. 4. Staff Development 5. Attend, participate, and successfully complete scheduled orientation programs and activities. 6. Attend, participate, and successfully complete all scheduled trainings and continuing education classes. 7.
Maintain certification in the following:
CPR, First Aid, and Mandatory Reporter. Safety and Sanitation 1. Monitor and ensure members are accounted for during activities in the building and community. 2. Notify leadership staff of any member not accounted for. 3. Complete incident reports for any medical, behavioral, or medication incident and inform leadership immediately. 4. Maintain all supplies and ensure they are in good condition and stored in assigned location. 5. Report any hazardous condition or equipment issues to leadership immediately. 6. Follow established safety procedures in performance of assigned duties. 7. Follow Universal Precaution procedures. 8. Perform routine housekeeping duties. Educational Requirements 1. Must possess at a minimum a high school diploma and GED. 2. Must attend and successfully complete a medication management course within 90 days of hire.
