Job Description

Description:
Access, Incorporated is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our SCL Department. In this role, you will provide support and guidance to individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and mental health needs in both home and community settings. As a DSP, you will help members achieve greater independence, meet goals identified in their Individual Program Plan (IPP), and participate fully in community life while promoting dignity, choice, and personal growth.
Primary Responsibilities include the following:
Provide direct care, training, and daily living support to members according to their Individual Program Plan (IPP) Encourage and support community integration and participation in activities Assist with personal wellness, nutrition, meal preparation, and food safety Support members with budgeting, shopping, paying bills, and household tasks Monitor and document member progress, behaviors, incidents, and daily activities Assist members in maintaining clean and safe living environments Ensure members receive appropriate medical care and medication support when certified Attend staff meetings, trainings, and individual planning meetings Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community events Promote member dignity, rights, independence, and personal choice Follow all agency policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Respond professionally to families, guardians, funders, and team members The ideal candidate is caring, patient, dependable, and passionate about helping others live meaningful and independent lives. Paid Holidays Requirements:
At minimum you must have the following: Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED Valid Iowa driver's license with acceptable driving record Must be able to pass criminal background, abuse, and reference checks Preferred but not required: Experience in Human Services or working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities Prior DSP experience
Schedule:
Typically Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm
No Holidays Starting Wage:
$14.00 per hour
