Full Job Description Overview:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

Duties:

• Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
• Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
• Promote independence and encourage participation in community activities
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
• Document and report any changes in behavior or health status
• Adhere to resident rights and maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations
• Assist with transportation to medical appointments, outings, or other scheduled activities
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in home care, nursing home, or working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as needed
• Knowledge of patient care techniques and first aid procedures
• Familiarity with hospice care principles is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
• High school diploma or equivalent
