Job Description

Developmental Options is a private non-profit company serving the Pocatello area. Our Direct Support Workers work in an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF), sometimes referred to as a group home. Candidates will work with children and adults who need support with activities of daily living such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, grooming, self-administration of medication, behavioral supports and accessing the community. This varies by department, home, and client; some may need more support than others.
Work Schedule:
We have day (7a-3p) or swing (3p-11p) shifts. Your schedules are a set shift assigned to you at hire. If a change is needed, the supervisor will arrange that with you. Work schedules are online and available 24 hours a day. Part-time shifts are available (Full-time may be available upon request); We have many schedule types available with a high need for weekend staff. Paid training classes to help you be successful in this position.
Pay:
$17.00 per hour, depending on department, with regular training pay increases at 6 months, 12, months and 18 months. At 2 years, merit raises are provided annually. •Additional pay increase available to individuals who can be approved as a company driver Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will be the primary caregiver, fostering independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing quality of life through personalized assistance. Your dedication will help create a nurturing environment where clients feel valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their goals. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while developing your skills in patient care and community support. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations. Administer medications following care plans and ensure proper medication storage and documentation. Support clients during meal preparation and cooking, ensuring nutritional needs are met while maintaining food safety standards. Implement written programming to identify safety concerns or behavioral changes, communicating promptly with treatment teams Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties in accordance with health standards in group homes or home care settings. Support the development and implementation of individualized care plans tailored to each resident's unique needs and preferences. Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental well-being.

$17.00 per hour
