Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide vital support to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities and personal care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism. This role involves working closely with clients in various settings such as assisted living facilities, group homes, or private residences, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being through attentive caregiving and support. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance. Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration in accordance with care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance for confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry. Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe patient transfers and mobility support. Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents accurately to ensure continuity of care. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans that address specific health conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities. Requirements Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is highly preferred. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in hospice or dementia care is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically assist clients with mobility challenges safely. Strong observational skills for monitoring patient condition and recognizing urgent health issues. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, autism, or developmental delays is desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required depending on the work setting.
