Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether supporting seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those experiencing memory care challenges, your efforts will foster a nurturing environment where clients feel valued and empowered. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while positively impacting your community. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe for any changes in condition Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA privacy standards Support residents during meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition and hydration Operate specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manage safe transfers to prevent injury Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light cleaning duties in accordance with health standards Document care activities meticulously in compliance with regulatory requirements and care plans Provide emotional support and companionship to foster social engagement and reduce feelings of isolation Skills Proven experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer's care strategies Certification in CPR and First Aid to ensure immediate response to emergencies Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and HIPAA regulations Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals Compassionate attitude combined with patience and resilience to support residents with complex needs Embark on a fulfilling career where every day brings new opportunities to uplift others.
