Job Description

LARC is a private not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing individuals with developmental disabilities opportunities to work, live, and participate in their community. LARC has been an established and active organization in Lansing, Illinois since 1956. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) work with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities to assist in maximizing the person's strengths, interests and abilities. DSPs provide support and supervision in a group setting that includes daily living supports and community activities with a person-centered approach. LARC's Residential Program is actively seeking people-oriented, energetic, dedicated candidates to join our team. Full-time and Part-time positions are available; shifts are primarily afternoons, midnights and weekends. LARC strives to provide employees with a schedule that will promote work-life balance.
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Able to pass a Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE test)
  • Valid Drivers' License
  • Physical ability to lift, stand for long periods of time, push, pull, reach, bend LARC will provide new employees with two weeks of classroom training (during daytime hours) and 80 hours of on-the-job training and coaching.
