Job Description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals requiring assistance due to age, illness, or disability. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized care and ensuring that clients feel comfortable and safe in their living environments. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication management. Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe living space. Use EMR and EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and communication with healthcare professionals. Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Provide specialized care for clients with conditions such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or developmental disabilities. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client information. Skills Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in client conditions. Experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records management. Certification in CPR is highly desirable. Familiarity with catheter care and hospice care practices is beneficial. Previous experience in home health or community care environments is an asset. Ability to work effectively with individuals who have disabilities or require memory care support. Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities.
