Summary We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Direct Support Professional to join our Day Services team. In this hands-on role, you will support adults with developmental disabilities as they participate in creative arts, life enrichment activities, retirement programming, and community experiences designed to promote independence and personal growth. Reporting to Day Services leadership, you will facilitate engaging daily programming while implementing individualized supports that help participants build confidence, learn new skills, and pursue meaningful experiences. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact while working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. The Role Facilitate engaging activities within Quest programs, LF Studios, and retirement services that encourage creativity, learning, and social engagement Support participants in exploring new interests through art, yoga, computer learning, wellness activities, and other hands-on experiences Implement individualized service plans that promote independence, personal growth, and achievement of participant goals Provide direct support and guidance while encouraging self-advocacy and skill development Assist participants with daily activities and support needs while maintaining dignity and person-centered practices Facilitate community integration through field trips, volunteer opportunities, recreational activities, and other community-based experiences Transport and accompany participants to community outings, appointments, and activities as needed Observe participant progress and communicate relevant information to supervisors and interdisciplinary team members Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and internal teams to ensure coordinated participant support Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and required program records Follow agency policies, safety procedures, and participant support protocols Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and engaging program environment that celebrates participant success Travel locally (approximately 10-15%) to support community-based programming and participant activities Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Successful completion of the CASAS assessment Valid driver's license from Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin Ability to obtain PACE Driver Certification within 30 days of hire Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred but not required Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships Emotional maturity, patience, and a commitment to person-centered support Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team Cultural sensitivity and respect for individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities Basic computer skills and ability to learn agency software systems Ability to lift, transfer, and assist participants as needed, including lifting up to 50 pounds Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and daily responsibilities Ability to adapt to changing participant needs and program priorities Compensation The hourly rate for this role is $17.00 per hour
